DESCRIPTION

A hand-forged blacksmith made tall triangular shaped wrought iron trivet / kettle stand from the Civil War Era c.1860.

This is a larger trivet than typically found, made to support the heavy water kettles and pots used at a campfire or open hearth.  It's quite heavy weighing 5-lbs. and stands 9" high with a span of approximately 10" across the top and 14" across the feet.

Still a practical usable trivet today. It stands firm, no wobble, shows plenty of wear to the entire surface. Good and strong.

Excellent Condition!
