REVOLVING SPOOL STAND

DESCRIPTION

From a local estate, a handsome early antique spool stand made in the 1860's. The height overall is 8" and the width at the bottom is 9".

The section that holds the spools revolves on the stepped base.

The very top of the stand has a little emery pin cushion covered in cotton velvet and a tiny bow accent. The stand was made of mahogany and has excellent turnings to the main shaft of the stand, the ring turned top section, and the wide stepped base. There are 8 spool holders, each one is removable from the stand. Each one has a charming little turned wood cap and is 3-1/4" long. The height clearance for a spool of thread is 1-3/4". The stand has 4 bun feet.

All original and in excellent condition.
