DESCRIPTION
A fabulous antique KUGELHOPF
/ Turks Head Mold with the best manganese spattered glaze, just
beautiful!
You might call this simply a cake mold
or a Turks Head Mold or even a Bundt Pan, but we have always referred to
this shape mold as a Kugelhopf. This is from a local Pennsylvania German
estate here in Lancaster County. This beautiful Kugelhopf cake mold
is 9-1/2" across the rim and 6-1/2" across the base and 3-3/4" high to the
top of the funnel, 3" high to the edge of the rim. Good and heavy and
in wonderful condition.
This was hand-potted.
It has a beautiful rich mottled,
speckled and spattered manganese glaze on both the exterior and on the interior
of the pan. The shape is wonderful with a stepped base to the funnel
and a deeply scalloped rim and double ridges to the interior, it surely
gave the finished cakes a beautiful appearance.
This is so lovely, beautifully
and expertly hand-crafted and still in wonderful condition.
A fine heavy weight to this handsome
pottery piece.
A Good Size & Gorgeous Glaze!
CONDITION
The condition is very good, no
cracks, or hairlines, a couple of shallow rim
chips
and expected wear to the base exterior
from oven use.
Perfect to add to your collection!
