Wrought Iron Swing
A big handsome early cast iron kettle from the Civil War
Era c.1860's. This is a 3 Gallon Cauldron with a flared rim, it has
two raised horizontal mold rings and two vertical casting lines. There
is a stove collar at the bottom and
three short legs,
each showing good wear.
It has arch ears with a
wrought iron bale handle. It retains the original side mount tipper
with ring grasp.
On the underside
of the body there is a long unpolished gate mark.
It is in excellent condition
with no repairs or damage. Very heavy weighs 10-1/2 lbs.
Excellent condition, no damage,
no breaks in the metal, no repairs.
This has not been cleaned.
It retains the original patina.
There is light surface rust on interior and
