DESCRIPTION

An antique dough scraper made from one single piece of hand forged iron. This type of early wrought iron dough scraper is indigenous to our local area of Southeastern Pennsylvania, Berks, Lebanon and Lancaster Counties. Having a short hollow handle and folded down blade it is unlike those found in other parts of the Colonies from the period of mid 1700's to early 1800's.

This one is from a local collection of early Lebanon County Pennsylvania hand forged iron.   It is a good example and in excellent condition. It has a blade that is thin, clean and sharp and a folded over handle.

Overall the iron work shows wonderful use and wear.

Size: 3-5/8" across the blade - 3" high
