DESCRIPTION

A handsome early cast iron kettle from the late 1700's to very early 1800's.  It retains the original lid which is of an unusual design.  Slightly domed it has six concentric rings leading up to the handle.  There's a good flange for a nice fit to the rim of the pot.  Hand wrought bail handle attached at the ears on the side of the kettle.  On the underside of the body there is a long unpolished gate mark.  The kettle has three short legs, each showing good wear.  Very heavy weighs 10-1/2 lbs.

CONDITION

Very good condition, no damage, no breaks in the metal, no repairs.

This has not been cleaned.
