Of an incredible size and fabulous weight, here's a splendid
early 1700's Colonial American antique turned wood mortar & pestle made
Wonderfully worn overall, there is no mistaking just how
very early this massive mortar and pestle is.
This huge rosewood mortar and pestle is a full 9-1/2" high
at the rim and with the pestle placed inside the mortar it stands 21"
high. We show it in one of our images placed next to two typical sized
mortar and pestles that are 7" and 6" high. (those will both be available
in another one of our sales).
And the weight of this rosewood mortar and pestle is also
incredible, it weighs over 13-lbs.!
Beautiful color and grain to the rosewood. The mortar
and pestle show age wear, nicks and gouges overall and have shrinkage lines
and cracks on the interior of the mortar and exterior. Still they both

9-1/2" high - 8-1/2" across the rim - 7" across the base and is 24"
The pestle is 17" long and 11" in circumference.
