Trip Around The World

A Superb Antique Lancaster County Pennsylvania Mennonite Postage Stamp Crib Quilt!

All  841 of these tiny little 1" squares were hand pieced, a true delight to the eye.  This is a very graphic quilt and it is all hand quilted in black.  Brilliant color combination of Turkey Red and Cheddar Yellow for the outer borders.  The fabrics chosen for the postage stamp pieces are so complimentary, cheddar, purple, green and blue in calico prints and solids. And the well planned use of these fabrics in these colors gives this little crib quilt a vibrant appearance.  The reverse of the quilt is a red calico print with minute window print checks.

The pattern is perfectly matched, a beautifully constructed antique crib quilt.  The binding is turned to the front and stitched carefully by hand with tiny even stitches.  The quilting is done at 8 stitches to the inch. There is a thin cotton batting.  No spots or wear. One tiny flaw at one corner, an old non-professional repair.

An exceptionally beautiful antique crib quilt from rural Lancaster County, Pennsylvania!

Size:  40" x 40"

Excellent Condition.

Image above shows the one tiny flaw at one corner, an old non-professional repair.
