Childs Antique Toy
A genuine Amish antique PRIMITIVE
toy cradle from a local Lancaster County Pennsylvania estate.
No excuses here ...
lots of wear and tear and beautiful old red paint, it's been well
loved and used over the years.
A very simple design to the body of
the cradle with a slightly raised headboard and shaped sides. The rockers
have the traditional deep boards that raise upward to the sides of the body
and with a wide curve outward ending with 'ears' ... a very German style
of cradle used throughout the 19th century.
This is in pristine 'as found' condition
and we think it looks just great as it is. Of course if you preferrred, this
would look stunning with the finish waxed, the coloring of the old oxidized
red paint would be brought to life once
Very Good Condition, all still tight
and strong. Old dry oxidized red paint finish to the wood. Lapped
construction all around, no fancy dovetail work here, lots of old square
nails. There's plenty of wear overall with nicks and scratches to the wood.
There's still lots of dust and grime left on it, we have not
cleaned this at all.
The surface shows the good true age
of this little beauty!
