A Pair of Beautiful Antique Eastlake Frames !
Victorian antique 19thc. Eastlake frames. These are deep shadowbox
frames with three layers.
The outer frames are approx 1-1/2" wide and 2" deep, made of
walnut they have multiple bevels separated with two black bands. The middle
section of the frames are approx. 1" wide and have a lacquered and marbled
finish to the wood along with a detailed etched design in each of the corners.
The inner gold frame is approximately 1-1/2" wide and beautifully gilded.
You rarely find these antique frames with such exceptionally handsome and
wide striped stencil gilding to the liner ... these are delightful, bright
and beautifully made and still in excellent condition. Beyond the stripe
design to the water gilding there is a flat panel of gilding, and a slightly
beveled gilded shape at the inner edge.
