An Original Signed & Dated Masterpiece by the Queen of Contemporary Folk Art Jo Sonja.

The author of many folk art painting books over the past near 50 years, Jo Sonja's originals are very rare to find.

This is one of her earliest works, purchased at one of her art shows years ago by the former owner.

"BIDDY" the Hen

A fabulous hand painted breadboard, it is signed by Jo Sonja on the lower right side

and dated Nov. 1974 c (copyright) on the lower left.

This handsome folk art painting also has a personal inscription by Jo Sonja on the reverse reading:

Although I've painted Biddy 2 other times,

this is the first time I've done her as "The Little Red Hen" - Jo Sonja November 1974

Biddy is a delight to look at with her big Calico Bonnet and half-granny-glasses

she sits upon a handsome woven basket nest filled with beautifully decorated eggs.

The reverse is painted green. Solid wood breadboard with breadboard ends. Top has hanging hole.

The size is 20" x 16" x 3/4"

A true Masterpiece Original by this most famous Contemporary American Folk Artist!

CONDITION

In Excellent Condition

This has been well cared for, just a few little dings along the edge here and there.

The breadboard ends are all still good and tight, no loosness.

No warp, no repairs.
